Women's Feet are More Than Double the Size of Women 100 Years Ago

The days of women having small, Cinderella-style tiny feet are OVER.  We're ALL Cinderella's big-footed evil stepsisters now.

--In the early 1900s, the average American woman wore a size three-and-a-half or four.  By the 1940s that was up to five-and-a-half.  It hit seven-and-a-half in the 1970s.  And today, the average American woman wears an eight-and-a-half or nine.

--That means American women's feet have more than DOUBLED in size in the past century.

--It's not exactly a mystery why.  Humans are getting taller, and our feet grow along with our bodies.

--Our weight gain is also responsible.  When you're YOUNG and HEAVY, your foot bones are still forming.  So the extra weight is flattening out the arch of the foot, which stretches the length.
